Dubai real estate and construction sector receives permit extensions in new support package
Construction timelines and housing approvals receive additional flexibility
DUBAI – Dubai’s latest Dh1.5 billion economic support package includes targeted relief for the real estate and construction sector, introducing extensions linked to permits and housing approvals.
The package, approved by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, includes measures across multiple industries as authorities continue efforts to support economic activity.
For construction projects under Dubai Municipality, the validity of building permits will be extended, providing additional flexibility for developers and project owners.
The move is expected to support projects facing timing challenges and provide more room for planning and implementation.
The package also includes support for Emirati housing initiatives. Approvals for housing construction loans for UAE nationals under the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment will be extended by one year.
The measures form part of broader efforts to reduce procedural pressures while supporting activity across Dubai’s development and construction sectors.
